South-West Solar Site, Developed by TGC Renewables, Breaks GroundFriday, May 18, 2012 - 12:42

Renewable energy developer starts work on a 2.9MW solar farm in Devon

26th April 2012, London – TGC Renewables, an independent renewable energy project developer, has completed the funding and commenced construction of a 2.9MW solar farm in Devon, UK.

The project, one of the largest agricultural solar developments in the South West to date, provides the Devon-based farm with a diversified source of additional revenue and also a secure source of clean energy to the national grid.

With large-scale solar still an attractive market for rural landowners looking to diversify their income, the south and southwest of England continues to offer real potential for local farmers and land owners.

The panels will be installed on a fixed racking system with the aim of a full grid connection before the end of June 2012.

TGC Renewables provided the complete project development through its in-house team.

“With the agricultural community under increasing financial and economic pressure, solar and wind installations provide a key mechanism for not just producing regular and sustainable clean energy, but also a valuable and reliable source of income for a 20 or 25 year period. This can provide an element of certainty to the farmer that allows them to employ new people or explore other business opportunities,” said Rob Denman, Director, TGC Renewables.

"For the UK farming and agricultural community, this opportunity to diversify existing revenue and be part of the UK’s renewables future is very attractive "

Mr Cleave, the landowner who selected TGC Renewables commented: “TGC Renewables has proven itself in working with us by keeping us informed at every stage and giving the project the best chance of success. We chose TGC Renewables based on its strong track record of developing multi-megawatt solar projects in the South West and its 100% record in obtaining planning across its sites.  The installation will provide us with an additional regular source of income for 25 years and will help us to support our traditional farming and new ventures."

With full planning approval and funding secured and already in place, the total project build time, from breaking ground to connection to the local grid, is expected to be completed within 3 months.

Founded in 2006, TGC Renewables is one of the most experienced renewable energy developers in the UK, with retained project planning, finance and development experience.

TGC Renewables Scores 6 out of 6 for Southern Solar SchemesFriday, May 18, 2012 - 12:18

Renewable energy developer, TGC Renewables, has secured planning approval for all of its most recent large-scale solar scheme initiatives

TGC Renewables, an independent renewable energy project developer, has achieved a 100% planning approval rate, for all six of its most recent UK solar energy initiatives.

Each of the large-scale multi megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar schemes, have been developed in locations that meet TGC Renewables strict acceptance criteria and will generate a combined total of almost 20MW of clean energy.

With large scale solar still an attractive market for rural landowners looking to diversify their income, the south and southwest of England continues to offer real potential for local communities and the local grid.

Five out of the six schemes are ground mounted southwest initiatives, with the sixth significant installation fixed to the roof of the Body Shop’s factory units, in Sussex.  At the time of installation, the Body Shop scheme was the largest roof mounted solar initiative in the country.

The projects, each ranging from 1MW to 4.5MW, are all now either fully connected to the grid and in operation, or due to be connected over the next few months.

“Given the significant changes in UK solar energy policy that we’ve experienced in the past six to nine months, the ability of our inhouse planning team to secure a 100% solar energy planning approval rate provides a real reason to celebrate,” said Ben Cosh, Managing Director, TGC Renewables.

“Solar is an unrivalled renewable energy technology that has the potential to provide true grid parity within the next ten years.  By working closely with landowners and businesses throughout the south and southwest, we have developed an enviable track record for streamlining the solar power planning process and ensuring that developments are installed and operational within the fastest
possible time.”

Founded in 2006, TGC Renewables is one of the most experienced renewable energy developers in the UK, with in-house project planning, finance and development experience.

In 2012, TGC Renewables intends to connect over 25MW of wind and solar energy initiatives to the grid.

Renewable energy developer staffs up and outlines multi-MW ambitions

TGC Renewables, an independent renewable energy project developer has announced plans to develop over 25MW in renewable energy initiatives, doubling its existing staff base in the next twelve months.

Despite an uncertain political and economic climate for the wider UK renewable energy sector, the company has developed a strong revenue base and a solid pipeline for future investment, profitability and growth.

Since October, TGC Renewables has been installing onshore wind turbines at a rate of two to three units a month – an impressive statistic that is expected to continue throughout the course of 2012.  This, combined with plans to develop a series of multi-MW solar sites located throughout the south west of England will lead to a substantial revenue rise.

“For the past five years, the UK renewable energy sector has been battling to strike a balance between creating the catalysts for growth and protecting the long term interests of the clean energy sector,”
said Ben Cosh, Director of TGC Renewables.

“However, as the Government starts to provide greater policy clarity, the industry can at last begin to raise company revenue targets and offer increased levels of energy stability in the future.

“For TGC Renewables, this is critical, since it enables us to work directly with both the investment and agricultural communities while at the same time continuing to invest in our existing staff base – a workforce that we expect to double within the next twelve to eighteen months.”

“As a business we currently have over 200 medium size wind turbines under development, as well as one of the UK’s largest solar parks about to enter planning.

TGC Renewables successfully develops ten turbines in ScotlandSunday, February 5, 2012 - 20:06

TGC Renewables, an independent renewable energy company, has completed the development of total of ten medium-scale wind turbines in Scotland in the last six months.

All ten turbines will be live, commissioned and fully operational by March 2012.

The developments, predominantly located in the Scottish county of Lanarkshire, have been constructed for investors keen to take a financial stake in future Scottish wind energy developments.

The turbines will provide a continual income at a fixed rate from returns generated under the Feed-in-Tariff for wind energy, generating a total power output of approximately 1MW.

As traditional investments have continued to suffer from reduced returns, so the fund community and wider investors are looking for new asset classes that provide an income that match market returns, while reducing risk.

As part of its offering TGC Renewables not only provides projects for the agricultural community looking for a self sufficient source of energy, but also to City investors keen to take advantage of an alternate source of investment income.

“The success of medium scale wind turbine installations is entirely dependent on the right turbine being married up with
the right site,” said Roy Amner, Director, TGC Renewables.  “A strong wind profile means that the turbine spends more of its time generating energy, thereby ensuring that returns under the UK Feed in Tariff (FiT) are fully utilised.”

“TGC Renewables prides itself on the quality of its due diligence in site selection, and its ability to complete projects to a high standard in a relatively short space of time.”

The ten sites collectively include six 50KW Endurance and four 100KW Northern Power units.  All the sites have already either been connected to or have secured connections to the local grid.

Founded in 2006, TGC Renewables is one of the mos experienced renewable developers in the UK with in-house project planning, finance and development experience.

In 2011, TGC Renewables connected over 2MW of wind and solar initiatives to the UK grid.
